MPV Glass

Intelligent privacy and adaptive light control for automotive glazing

MPV Glass

Our MPV GLASS (Multi-Purpose Vision / Smart Switchable Glass) collection brings intelligent privacy and dynamic light control to modern vehicles. Engineered by laminating advanced Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) film within automotive-grade safety glass, the glazing transitions rapidly between an opaque, light-diffusing state and a transparent viewing state.

When electrical power is switched off, the liquid crystals remain randomly dispersed, scattering incoming light and creating a frosted appearance that obscures direct visibility. When power is applied, the liquid crystals align, allowing light to pass through and making the glazing transparent. The transition can be activated through vehicle switches, touchscreens, electronic control units, mobile applications, voice commands or automatic sensors.

MPV GLASS can be integrated into passenger side windows, quarter windows, rear glazing, panoramic roofs and cabin partitions. It provides on-demand privacy, soft daylight diffusion, glare management and improved passenger comfort while reducing the need for mechanical curtains, blinds and conventional sunshades. Its use in windscreens and other driver-visibility zones remains subject to applicable optical and automotive safety regulations.

This advanced glazing solution is suitable for luxury cars, electric vehicles, premium MPVs, executive vans, limousines, buses, coaches and specialised mobility vehicles. It supports the development of cleaner, more spacious and digitally connected vehicle interiors that can adapt instantly to different passenger requirements.

Product details

  • SMART-VISION AUTO CLEAR:
Standard automotive PDLC glazing that transitions between a frosted privacy state and a transparent viewing state. Suitable for passenger side windows, rear-quarter glazing, cabin partitions and selected roof applications.
  • SMART-VISION AUTO TINT:
Grey, bronze or neutral-toned PDLC glazing developed for enhanced visual privacy, reduced brightness and coordinated exterior styling. The final colour and level of shading depend on the PDLC film, tinted glass and complete glazing construction.
  • SMART-VISION AUTO ACOUSTIC:
Switchable automotive glazing combined with specialised acoustic interlayers to reduce external road, wind and engine noise while providing on-demand visual privacy. Laminated acoustic glazing is commonly used to improve passenger-cabin comfort.
  • SMART-VISION AUTO PROJECTION:
Automotive PDLC glazing optimised to create a projection-compatible surface in its opaque state. Suitable for selected side windows, cabin partitions and rear glazing used for passenger entertainment, information displays or vehicle communication.

Description

Automotive-grade PDLC film laminated between safety-glass layers using compatible interlayers and controlled automotive lamination processes. The construction can be adapted for curved, shaped and segmented glazing.
Operates through an automotive-grade electronic controller that converts and regulates power from the vehicle’s electrical system. Typical PDLC film operating voltage is approximately 42–70V AC, although the final electrical configuration depends on the film, controller, glass size and vehicle architecture.
Rapid transition between opaque and transparent states. PDLC film can switch in approximately 10 milliseconds under specified operating conditions, while complete automotive-system response may vary according to panel size, temperature and controller configuration.
Provides high visible-light transmission and low haze in the transparent state. In the opaque state, transmitted light is scattered to create privacy and uniform light diffusion. Exact transmission, haze and privacy values depend on the selected film, glass colour, interlayers, curvature and complete glazing construction.
Final thickness is customised according to the automotive application, glass plies, safety interlayers, acoustic requirements, curvature, installation zone and vehicle-manufacturer specifications.
Compatible with physical switches, touchscreens, vehicle electronic control units, mobile applications, voice-control systems and automated light, occupancy or temperature sensors.
Designed for automotive environments involving temperature variation, prolonged UV exposure, vibration and repeated switching cycles. Final assemblies must be validated according to the applicable vehicle-manufacturer and regional automotive glazing requirements.
Available in flat or curved forms with customised outlines, segmented privacy zones, ceramic printing, tinted glass, electrical busbars, connectors, cut-outs and application-specific edge finishing.

Description

200 mm × 300 mm

1800 mm × 3500 mm

The maximum width is governed primarily by the available PDLC film-roll width. Final producible dimensions are also subject to glass curvature, lamination equipment, electrical zoning and vehicle-specific engineering requirements
